About

I am a Christian therapist for women.

After years of working with women, I have seen patterns of women feeling exhausted, stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, lonely, inadequate, misunderstood, and self-critical. Therapy is more than a safe space to talk about these feelings--it is an atmosphere of "with-ness", where you can begin to relate to yourself in new ways in the presence of a caring, non-judgmental and empathetic professional. I genuinely care for my clients and am deeply invested in your growth and well-being. In this space, you can develop safe attachment with yourself, healthy boundaries with others, self-compassion, and new practical tools for healing yourself and your relationships. Because therapy is both a science and an art, my practice applies proven treatment approaches to your own unique needs and personality. My therapy approach is a mix of somatic therapy, internal family systems therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and a strength-based focus, uniquely fit to your needs. With a ten year background in personal training, wellness coaching, and pastoral counseling in women's issues, my clinical work focuses on addressing the whole of who women are psychologically, emotionally, biologically, and spiritually. Client Demographic Specialties: women, late teens, couples, premarital couples, individuals interested in Christian integration Specialty Areas: anxiety, depression, codependency, trauma, perfectionism, motherhood issues and burnout, stress, sexual abuse, self-esteem, relationship issues, emotional abuse, grief and loss, marital/premarital assessment, pregnancy, postpartum depression and anxiety, leadership issues, ministry burnout; see complete list of services below F.A.Q.S Do I have to be a Christian to see you? No. I believe that true and long lasting change in therapy happens when the whole person is addressed, and so one of my unique approaches is the use of an ethical integration of a Christian-based world view. However, therapy is a safe and inclusive space for all people, regardless of faith background. I also understand that the Christian Church has been hurtful to many, and faith resources will only be integrated if it is the wish of the individual. How do you incorporate Christianity in sessions? If the client requests spiritual integration, therapy will integrate principles of Christian faith and psychology to help you strengthen your relationship with God, explore the ways your unique background has contributed to your faith experience, and address your challenges through a biblical lens. This may include using prayer, Scripture, inner healing prayer, music, community, and exploration of your faith story in your unique soul-care journey. How long do sessions last? Around 50 minutes. If you are late for your appointment, that time will be taken off the total time. Do you take insurance? I do not at this time. However, I will provide a superbill if requested for you to provide to your insurance company. How much does counseling cost? Rates are $110/session; sliding scale client spots may be available upon request If you need financial assistance and are located in rural Nebraska (all of Nebraska with the exception of Lincoln and Omaha), you may qualify for five free sessions with the Nebraska Rural Response Hotline. Simply call them at 1-800-464-0258 to get enrolled, and I will handle the paperwork for the reimbursement of those five sessions. How do I get started? You can click the "Request Appointment" button above to book a free 10 minute phone consultation. You can also call or text 308-991-4187, and I will reach out to you within 48 business hours for a free 10 minute phone consultation. How do telehealth sessions work? Simply book an appointment through "video office". At the time of your appointment, you will receive a text or email link that will open Simple Practice's secure telehealth platform. You can use a phone, computer, or tablet and will need a strong internet connection. I will always be in a private, confidential setting on my end. How many sessions will I need? Therapy is a highly individual-based process. Some clients find relief or improvement quickly and others stay longer as a regular self-care rhythm. I recommend starting with 6-10 sessions. How do I know if counseling will be beneficial? Counseling is most beneficial for those who want to engage in the inner work and who are willing to put in effort outside of regular sessions. It is not a linear process and often requires patience, discomfort, and active participation in the process. Research consistently shows that psychotherapy is highly beneficial. What if we don't 'click'? The strongest predictor of successful therapy is the client-therapist relationship. We will start with a 10 minute phone consultation to determine if it is a good fit initially. If we get started and you find my style is not quite right for you, then please tell me! I am more than happy to refer you to other therapists in the area. A wide variety of personalities and personal preferences means that no therapist is a "one size fits all". What is my Client Portal? Through your own Client Portal, you can request and cancel appointments, securely message me, refer to documents, and view payment information. How do I find your office? My office is located at 124 W. 46th Street, Kearney, NE. It is a large brick building. You will come to Suite #204 on the second floor and enter a waiting room. I will come and get you at the time of your appointment.
